Inspired by my Hungarian heritage, where poppy seeds symbolise comfort and everyday rituals, I create small-batch soaps and candles using natural, skin-friendly ingredients. Each piece is designed to bring warmth, simplicity, and mindful moments into your daily routine.

What started over a decade ago as a quiet, hands-on hobby slowly grew into a space where creativity, tradition, and mindful living came together.
The name The Poppy Seed is inspired by Hungarian heritage, where poppy seeds are part of many beloved dishes and symbolise comfort, care, and everyday magic. That small detail reflects what these products are meant to bring — simple, grounding moments woven into daily routines.
Each batch is created by hand in small volumes, using natural ingredients and thoughtful formulations. Every soap and candle is designed with intention: gentle on the skin, calm in the home, and quietly beautiful in its simplicity.
It all started
with the soaps
The Poppy Seed began with a passion for arts and crafts, but it was also sparked by a growing frustration with the environmental impact of single-use plastic.
For years, I enjoyed creating things with my hands, but I wanted to take that creativity further. I wanted to make something not only beautiful and useful but also something that could help reduce waste in a meaningful way.
The idea really took root during Christmas — a time when waste from packaging, gifts, and disposable products is overwhelming. I decided to challenge myself to create something thoughtful, practical, and waste-free for my loved ones so I began making hand-crafted soaps as holiday gifts.
The first batches of soap were inspired by the festive spirit, and they were mini Christmas cakes (kuglóf) that looked almost good enough to eat!
The reactions from my family were incredible and that’s when I realized:
soap-making wasn’t just a fun hobby; it was an opportunity to create something that combined artistry with sustainability.

What started as a personal project to reduce waste during the holidays soon evolved into something much bigger. I realized I was not only making soap — I was creating a product that aligned with my core values of sustainability, beauty, and simplicity.
Every bar is crafted with care, using only natural ingredients, and I’m proud to offer products that are as beautiful as they are kind to the environment. The process is still deeply personal — each batch is made by hand, with intention and a love for detail.

Beside conscious production choices, safe practice is as important. Therefore, all my soap recipes are lab tested and certified by Oxford Bio Sciences and I am committed to meticulously follow all related EU Cosmetic Regulations and Manufacturing Practices.
